it has started coverage of wireless carriers as part of its Network
Business Quarterly service. Initial coverage will include the major
U.S. wireless carriers, including Verizon Wireless (Verizon Communications/Vodafone

November 30th -- On Saturday, December 1st, Telenor Mobil will open
its third generation mobile network in accordance with the terms and
conditions of the license agreement set by the authorities. Telenor
Mobil's UMTS network will initially cover central areas of Oslo with
a population of approximately 200,000. UMTS
(Universal Mobile Telecommunication System) is the new standard for
mobile communication.

and Nokia today announced an agreement under which Matsushita will start
evaluating and testing Nokia's Series 60 platform. The recently introduced
Series 60 platform is a terminal-software platform for smart phones
that Nokia licenses to other mobile-handset manufacturers as a source-code
product. Manufacturers will be able to integrate the Series 60 platform
into their own phone designs running on top of the Symbian OS.
