Mobile telephones are becoming more and more like a PDAs advanced client applications for e-mail, contact management and calendars integral parts of the device. By utilising the SyncML standard, Mobeon can now supply support for enabling synchronisation not just for the future '3G telephones', but also for many of the telephones and PDAs currently on the market. Examples of this are the T68, T39 and P800 models from SonyEricsson, Nokia's 7650 and 9210 and PocketPC based PDAs such as Compaq's Ipaq. "Having a single product for supporting mobile work, whether on or offline creates the best situation for users, irrespective of whether they use a standard mobile telephone, Smartphone or PDA. It also allows our partners to create extremely attractive solutions suited for professional user's needs," states Robert Vangstad, Marketing Director at Mobeon. mPIM/Offline Extension is built on an open standard called SynqML.
