Singapore Wireless Companies at 3GSM

5th April , 2004

ASIA : A delegation of eight local wireless companies made their way to Cannes recently to exhibit Singapore's innovation in wireless applications and solutions at the Singapore Pavilion.

Led by IDA, the eight companies showcased their various products and services at the 3GSM World Congress 2004 and were testament to Singapore's position as being an ideal lab for wireless innovations.

The eight are Clearhub, I'M Technologies, Innvo System, Java Competency Wireless Centre, Mikoishi (Asia-Pacific), TalariaX, Ufinity and Wireless Intellect Labs. The companies gave a firm thumbs up to IDA's leadership in bringing the group to 3GSM.

IDA's objective in leading the Singapore companies to Cannes is to showcase Singapore's attractiveness as a "living lab" for wireless innovations. A world-class infocommm infrastructure, ubiquitous wireless connectivity and a ready pool of avid technology adopters are traits of Singapore's ideal position for developing and piloting wireless applications.

Mr Mark Frass, Wireless Architect, Java Wireless Competency Centre, said: "Participation of 3GSM conference in Cannes with IDA has been an overwhelming success for JWCC in terms of industry connections, insight and exposure. We gained insights into the global heartbeat of the mobile industry and where it is heading. This will directly lead to a refinement of our positioning in the area of mobile application quality. We would not have been able to achieve this on our own, or without the exposure to the calibre of industry players one can only find at the conference."

Another participant, Mr Alex Goatcher, managing director, Mikoishi (Asia-Pacific), said: "3GSM is the largest show for the mobile industry. Participating at this show provides us the opportunity to present leading-edge mobile entertainment content to a worldwide audience. As a result, we look forward to doing new business with new partners in 2004."

Clearhub is a Mobile Data Exchange Hub specialising in the seamless delivery of mobile messaging; connecting mobile operators, enterprises and value-added service providers. Innvo Systems is a provider of MMS Client, Mobile Browser and Java solutions for handset OEMs and ODMs. At the show, it demonstrated mobile messaging and browsing products on OEM/ODM handset platforms.

The Java Wireless Competency Centre (JWCC) focuses on building competency in wireless technology and development skills for the Singapore wireless industry. JWCC exhibited its comprehensive content quality assurance management system and instant messaging solution infrastructure. Mikoishi (Asia-Pacific) is an entertainment software company based in Singapore that produces cross-platform entertainment content, primarily mass-multiplayer games and lifestyle/messaging products for mobile networks and handsets. TalariaX focuses on developing and delivering wireless applications to the marketplace.

Ufinity is a provider of wired and wireless products and solutions.
