Quickoffice Premier Demonstrated With Symbian Smartphone

US : Mobility Electronics has entered into an agreement to supply its iGo Quickoffice Premier(TM) 1.0 for the Panasonic X700 Smartphone. The software was recently demonstrated at the Panasonic booth at the 3GSM World Congress 2004, in Cannes, France.

Based on the award winning iGo Quickoffice Premier for Palm OS(R), Quickoffice Premier for Series 60 offers a fully functional office suite. For the first time, Symbian Series 60 Smartphone users will be able to open, view and edit native Microsoft(R) Word, Excel and PowerPoint(R) email attachments, Multi-media Message attachments, and native MS Office files saved on removable memory expansion cards.

"This suite has many firsts," noted Paul Moreton, Mobility Electronics' director, handheld software. "Quickoffice Premier is the first office suite for Series 60 Smartphones. It includes the first handheld application to save edited presentations as native PowerPoint(R) files."

Quickoffice Premier supports any Series 60 Smartphone including the new Panasonic X700. Quickoffice Premier includes the full Quickword(R) word processor with fonts, formatting, justification, bold, italics, underline, and other standard editing tools. The Quickoffice Premier spreadsheet, Quicksheet(R), includes multiple sheet workbooks, more than 70 functions, formatting, justification, bold, italics, underline, and advanced features such as column resizing.
