3G Applications Partnership

14th April , 2004

Europe : FERMA, a global provider offering IP-based value-added service solutions, and Convedia(R) Corporation, the leading provider of carrier-class IP media processing platforms, today announced the signing of a marketing partnership agreement to jointly develop prepaid and messaging applications for IP/3G service providers.

Inset is Grant Henderson, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Strategy at Convedia who is quoted below.

The agreement is a natural fit for both companies, given FERMA's strong and well-respected position in mobile prepaid and other value-added service solutions, coupled with Convedia's expertise in carrier-class IP media processing. The partnership will develop a seamless integration between Convedia's IP media servers and FERMA's multi-play prepaid service solutions for next generation mobility networks, while creating a services platform to support an even broader range of IP/3G-based services such as unified communications, mobile Internet and push-to-talk.

"FERMA is recognized as a leading provider of prepaid solutions for mobile operators with a strong worldwide presence," said Grant Henderson, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Strategy at Convedia. "Both companies share a focus on the customer, with solutions that minimize time-to-market and cost of ownership. We view this agreement as an excellent opportunity to access a broader market, enhancing our global reach."

"Convedia's CMS-1000 and CMS-6000 Media Servers are leaders in IP media server technology, offering customers a cost-effective media processing solution which delivers strong performance, a wide range of functionality and important enhanced profitability to carriers," said Roger Agniel, CEO of FERMA. "Our existing and new customers will fully benefit from this partnership."
