US : Nazomi Communications, Inc., the inventor of universal and scalable solutions for boosting the performance of multimedia and Java applications, today announced that Samsung Electronics, the world's leading mobile phone maker, has chosen the JA108 Java/Multimedia Application Processor for its new line up of multimedia phones. Samsung's SCH-X850 and SCH-E350 handsets, which support the GIGA Platform Specification of SK Telecom, the largest cellular provider in Korea, are specifically designed to provide an increased multimedia performance and gratifying user experience. Nazomi's JA108 Java/Multimedia Application Processor has been determined to be the best solution to accelerate the media-rich applications offered by SKT's GIGA Platform, and proves to be the most affordable and energy-efficient solution on the market. Combined with XCE's SKVM, Digital Aria's flash animation technology, Thin Multimedia's video and Sinjisoft's gaming platforms, Nazomi's JA108 contributes significantly to making the multimedia experience richer, faster and more energy efficient for SKT's customers. MS Cha, manager of the Samsung CDMA development team commented, "The release of the SCH-X850 and SCH-E350 handsets, underscores Samsung's leadership in the market. As Nazomi was chosen by SK Telecom as the preferred multimedia application processor vendor for the GIGA Platform, we believe that partnering with Nazomi facilitates Samsung's cutting-edge technology to provide consumers with an exciting multimedia experience on SKT's GIGA Platform phones." "We
are very pleased to see our products inside new and innovative phone
models produced by a world leader like Samsung. Nazomi has established
a leading market position with its Java/Multimedia Application Processor
that can already be found in multimedia-rich phones made by Sharp,
Sony Ericsson and SK Teletech. We look forward to working with Samsung
to continue to bring pioneering Java and multimedia processor solutions
to market," said Jay Kamdar, president and CEO of Nazomi. |
