QUALCOMM and Icera Sign 3G WCDMA Patent Agreement

US San Diego : QUALCOMM and Icera announced that they have signed a worldwide wireless software patent agreement. Under the terms of the multi-million dollar agreement, QUALCOMM has granted Icera rights under certain QUALCOMM patents to develop, manufacture and sell software products for WCDMA devices.

"Icera's license enables them to provide WCDMA software platforms to OEMs, thereby expanding the WCDMA competitive landscape. As an innovative, European-based supplier of wireless modem platforms, Icera's software solution will further expandthe wide range of WCDMA platforms available to OEMs and wireless carriers."
