Avenir and O2 Deploy Free Mobile Broadband Test Units
3rd April , 2009
UK : Avenir Telecom, the UK's leading business-to- business telecoms distributor, announces a bold channel initiative this week as it begins providing complimentary O2 Mobile Broadband test units. Avenir is delivering a brand new O2 Mobile Broadband Pay and Go USB modem worth RRP GBP29.35 to each and every one of its clients.
The O2 USB Modem will have some access time pre- loaded so that Avenir's clients can literally 'plug and play' into a prospect's laptop to demonstrate the ease- of-use and instant business benefits that mobile broadband affords. All that is required is for the client to continue to top up the device as and when necessary.
"Mobile broadband represents an enormous opportunity to UK businesses," explains Avenir Telecom's UK MD Andy Tow, "especially on the pay-as-you-go model. Our special 'free trial' will allow our clients to properly demonstrate this service and deploy risk-free test units to their customer base."
"Avenir is committed to both decreasing customer churn in the mobile industry, and forging greater links between telecoms and IT sales. This initiative covers both these bases and, in these recessionary times, we are giving dealers a risk-free way of making mobile broadband sales, pitching to customers who want to 'try before they buy' and to those who need to scope out the technology before committing to a contract."
Ben Dowd, O2 Business Sales Director, added: "Mobile broadband provides business with an ideal opportunity to mobilise workforces. During an economic downturn companies who seize opportunities to change the way they work can come out fighting at the end. This offer by Avenir, our top performing Distribution Partner for 2008, provides companies with a no-cost opportunity to try our award- winning mobile broadband service and see what efficiencies a service like this can drive."
The O2 USB Modem E160 is PC and Mac compatible, has a connection speed of up to 3.6Mbps depending on your location and also provides 2GB external storage. All this in a device weighing just 30 grams. As with all of O2's mobile broadband hardware it comes with a 30-day "happiness guarantee".
"Avenir is firmly focussed on the B2B marketplace and nothing represents more of a boon to UK businesses than mobile broadband," continues Tow. "If you have a laptop you can now be on-line no matter where you are as long as there's a mobile phone signal. Businesses become 'always-on', remote workforces can truly work, and mobile staff are available not just at point A and point B, but at all points in between. For dealers this represents a significant new revenue stream, and another chance to integrate mobile and information
