M1 Offers Prepaid 3G Broadband

M1 Offers Prepaid 3G Broadband

8th April, 2009

Singapore : Having been the first to introduce mobile broadband for postpaid customers, M1 will launch Singapore’s first prepaid mobile broadband service tomorrow - offering unlimited data usage - to enable more consumers to enjoy the convenience of broadband connectivity anywhere in Singapore.

M1 Prepaid Broadband is ideal for visitors to Singapore who need Internet and e-mail access. It will provide a cheaper alternative to the broadband connection services provided at most hotels. The service will also benefit the occasional broadband users who do not wish to be tied to service contracts.

M1 Prepaid Broadband will offer customers peace of mind with its three-day unlimited data access for just $18. Customers need not worry about paying additional charges for any excess data usage. To use the service, customers simply have to purchase the M1 Prepaid Broadband SIM card, slot it into their mobile broadband modems or data devices and enjoy connection speeds of up to 7.2Mbps island-wide.

M1 has also made it easy for customers who do not have their own modem or data devices. They can pick up a M1 Prepaid Broadband kit, comprising a Vodafone USB Stick Modem and a M1 Prepaid Broadband SIM card, for $128 at any M1 Shop and authorized dealers.

“We have captured the market with attractive tariffs and an interesting range of broadband devices since we launched the island’s first mobile broadband service in 2006. M1 continues to lead in this space with another new innovation for customers who require short term and infrequent broadband access. Developed from ideas gathered through consumer feedback, M1 Prepaid Broadband is introduced to address the needs of this new customer segment. With this new exciting addition, M1 now has a full suite of services covering prepaid and postpaid mobile broadband as well as fixed broadband to offer the most appropriate solutions to meet the diverse needs of our customers,” said P. Subramaniam, M1’s Chief Marketing Officer.
