Motorola Wins China Unicom 3G Contract

Motorola announced that the company has won a commercial W-CDMA contract with China Unicom, a leading telecom operator in China. The contract marks another significant milestone for Motorola in China’s 3G market, demonstrating Motorola’s global strength and commitment to delivering market leading W-CDMA network solutions.
Under the contract, Motorola will provide China Unicom with W-CDMA radio access network equipment, packet switched core network (PS core), and 2G/3G interoperability functions that will enable a seamless integration of China Unicom’s GSM and W-CDMA networks.
Motorola’s innovative and feature-rich W-CDMA solutions are designed to help operators like China Unicom capitalize on the rapidly growing demands for data and media mobility experiences.
