Intec Telecom Systems announced a multi-million pound, three-year contract with COLT Telecom Group for its convergent mediation platform, Inter-mediatE(tm). After an extensive evaluation process, COLT selected the solution for its proven performance and scalability. Inter-mediatE gives COLT the ability to replace the existing mediation platforms currently supporting COLT's network operations, offering greater flexibility for collecting, processing and distributing network traffic information to COLT's downstream systems, including billing. The new agreement complements an existing contract between COLT and Intec for InterconnecT(tm) software, the market leading intercarrier billing solution that successfully operates across COLT's European networks.

Inter-mediatE uses an advanced distributed architecture that allows users to gather high volumes of network usage data from anywhere in the network for processing, enhancement and distribution to downstream systems such as billing. Inter-mediatE has over 100 customers around the world, including Telia Sweden, Hutchison 3G and ITXC in the USA.
