In a May 2002 report, In-Stat/MDR, a market research firm, predicts semiconductor revenue from handsets to top $20 billion as new subscriber growth continues and more expensive components and features in the 3G handsets become more pervasive. Lucent and Novatel recently announced a joint development agreement to create W-CDMA based wireless products geared to the business users of 3G networks. "I think the timing is right to present these and other exciting 3G industry developments to our current and future investors," said Arne Dunhem, President and CEO. "The webcast approach provides the easiest, most hassle- free way for our wide, international audience to hear from us directly. We hope to provide a regular series of such web-based updates to inform and educate shareholders on our progress and that of our industry." The
Company designs state-of-the-art semiconductor chipset solutions specifically
to enable 3G wireless communications. The Company believes that these
solutions are critical components of the wireless network operators'
base stations and the new consumer handsets that will enable 3G communications.
These products support the international 3G standard known as W-CDMA. |
