Vodafone Broadcasts Live on 3G UMTS Mobile

Europe : Vodafone has a scoop during the 10th edition of Dance Valley: Vodafone customers are able to view live images from the Dance Valley 2004 event in Spaarnwoude by using a Vodafone live! UMTS handset.

Vodafone live! UMTS provides Dance Valley visitors with exclusive backstage images via Video Telephony and interesting and surprising moments can be recorded with Video MMS. Vodafone is the first mobile operator to make it possible to view the most renowned dance event in the Netherlands live on a mobile phone.

Vodafone demonstration teams will be present at Dance Valley with Vodafone live! UMTS phones that will be used, among other things, to broadcast the 10th edition of Dance Valley live and to demonstrate Video Telephony to 50,000 visitors. Visitors can also make a video call themselves with the special DJ reporter.

Dance-lovers will also see their MMS party photos on large screens around the festival site. They can send these photos directly to friends via the Vodafone website in the special "Vodafone Dome" or from their own Vodafone live! handset. Visitors can also charge their phone, buy pre-paid SIM cards and top-up cards and have a free badge made from their MMS party photo in the Vodafone Dome and Truck.

The broad potential of Dance Valley and other UDC dance events on Vodafone live! has been made possible through Vodafone Netherlands' sponsorship of United Dance Company (UDC). This unique sponsorship agreement enables Vodafone customers to download exclusive content to their mobile phone via Vodafone live!, including Ringtones and Realtones by top DJs, video clips of performances, wallpapers and MMS party photos. In addition to the exclusive mobile services offered via Vodafone, the UDC sponsorship also gives Vodafone customers various benefits such as free cards or exclusive CDs.

Visitors to Dance Valley will be given a plan of the festival site including information on the free Vodafone SMS DJ Alert service for information on times and locations of performances
There will be Vodafone promo teams for conducting UMTS Video Calls and taking MMS party photos
The Vodafone Dome (tent) and Vodafone Truck are in the middle of the site and are open to all visitors
In the Vodafone Truck it is possible to send your MMS party photos and MMS video images to your friends immediately via the Internet
MMS party photos can be sent on site and free to friends and acquaintances as an e-card, postcard or as an MMS message
Reports from the UMTS Video Telephony DJ reporter can be viewed live on a large screen in the Vodafone Dome
