3G Video Browser Solution for Mobitel

Europe : Alcatel and Mobitel, the national mobile telecommunications operator in Slovenia, announced that Alcatel's Video Browser solution has been selected for the operator's 3G network. Leveraging Alcatel's leadership in the 3G video market, Mobitel Slovenia will use Alcatel's advanced mobile video solution in the fast roll out of new 3G end-user services.

The Alcatel Video Browser opens the door to a wide range of opportunities for Mobitel, allowing 3G end-users to rapidly and readily navigate between a variety of video services such as live TV, live webcams, pre-recorded and video streaming with the highest video quality available on a circuit today using the H324M mobile video protocol.

Mobitel Slovenia chose Alcatel's Video Browser specifically for its advanced open standard-based VoiceXML™ with extension-to-video feature that facilitates and accelerates application development and deployment, as well as allows fast and smooth migration and integration of existing applications.

Thanks to standard VXML support, Mobitel Slovenia will be able to readily develop and deploy new advanced 3G services, as was demonstrated at a recent workshop where Alcatel and Mobitel Slovenia with its preferred development partners ran a series of demo applications on the Video Browser in less than an hour, proving the product's superior interoperability with VoiceXML-compliant applications in a multi-vendor environment.
