The SkyCross antenna, together with the new Novatel Wireless card modems, will allow users to enjoy next generation wireless services with high-speed data transfer for fast access to the Internet and private Intranets, quality audio and video streaming and secure mobile email access even with large attachments. The SkyCross antenna solution provides superior performance across the networks, allowing customers to have worldwide wireless flexibility. The SkyCross ultra wideband embedded antenna provides frequency coverage in the range of 850 to 2500 MHz, satisfying the GSM/UMTS network standards in the USA, Europe and Asia. The SkyCross embedded dual band diversity antenna provides frequency coverage in the 850 and 1900 bands for the USA CDMA EVDO network standards. Both antennas provide exceptional gain, efficiency, and low SAR while maintaining an extremely small size. "SkyCross is delighted to see the success of 3G technology," said Dr. Chris Morton, CEO of SkyCross. "Our agreement with Novatel Wireless demonstrates that SkyCross' antennas can meet the demanding requirements of leading manufacturers, wireless providers, and users in the global marketplace. We look forward to the future as the need for rapid wireless data transfer continues to grow." About SkyCross SkyCross is a leading developer of next-generation RF technology for mobile and fixed wireless telecommunications, telematics, satellite, and mobile computing markets. SkyCross' antenna solutions are based on patented Meander Line Antenna technology that allows engineers to design high performance, multi-mode, multi-frequency antennas that can be hidden inside a mobile casing, have a very low radiation profile, and offer much better gain characteristics over existing solutions. Typical applications for the antennas include handsets, laptop computers, PDAs, automobiles, household electronics and base stations. SkyCross was launched in late 2000 by MILCOM Technologies and enVia, and was based on technology developed by BAE Systems. |
