: Nokia has established a Research and Development center for mobile
infrastructure in Chengdu, the capital city of the Sichuan province
in Western China. The R&D centre will develop mobile applications
based on 3G and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) for both Chinese and
global markets. The R&D Center was opened during an inauguration
ceremony on Sunday 28 August.
Nokia Chengdu R&D center is the company's sixth R&D unit and
second 3G R&D center in China. Nokia is committed to long-term
development in China. With strong local R&D, manufacturing and
innovative technologies, Nokia has continuously strengthened its market
position in China as the number one supplier of mobile devices and
a leading supplier of mobile networks.
