Europe : INQ Mobile, the producer of the successful INQ1 Facebook mobile phone, has announced two new Social Mobiles.
The two new phones, which are called the INQ Chat 3G and the INQ Mini 3G, will offer high-spec capabilities without a high price point.
Both new devices now come with a Twitter application that now joins Skype, Facebook and Instant Messaging of Social Applications on the device.
The INQ Chat 3G is a social device with a qwerty-style keyboard and the INQ Mini 3G is an entry-level mobile for the price weary customer.
INQ has produced a new Twitter application, which runs on both new mobiles. The software was made in close collaboration with the Twitter team and enables users to send and receive tweets over the internet rather than SMS. On the INQ Chat 3G, updates from Twitter can be displayed on your mobiles home screen.
INQ Chat 3G
The INQ Chat 3G was made to meet the demand for a QWERTY keyboard device. It features new email software that accommodates free push Gmail, therefore saving push mail costs. The device comes pre-loaded with the full INQ suite including Facebook, Skype, Email, Instant Messaging and Twitter.
INQ Mini 3G
The INQ Mini 3G is a full-featured social mobile at a budget-pricepoint , making it ideal for Pay as you go customers. The device is slim and offers all the social network capability you can ask for including Twitter, Facebook, IM, Skype and web-based email services.
Both the INQ Mini 3G and the INQ Chat 3G come in a range of 7 colours and the software and firmware can be updated “over the air”.
One new introduction is media syncing capability, which enables music from your PC can be synced straight to your mobile without having to change your PC media player, like most apps i.e. iTunes. The new software, called DoubleTwist also supports video and photos.
The INQ1 from INQ Mobile was an award winning device, which gives high hopes for success with these two devices and INQ will hope they achieve the sales their frist device did.
Frank Meehan, INQ’s CEO, said: “We build phones that focus specifically on what people want to do most on mobile, and deliver it at a price point that’s easy for consumers and profitable for operators. We have completely broken the vice grip hold that high-end smartphones had on great mobile internet experiences, and made them available to everybody.”
“With the INQ Chat 3G, we’ve reinvented the qwerty for consumers by creating a fantastic social mobile. With the INQ1, we were blown away by how much consumers were writing just using the standard 12 keys – 30% of them were regularly sending emails. So we know that a keypad will go down a storm.”
The INQ Chat 3G and INQ Mini 3G will be available in Q4 2009.
