UK : Orange has confirmed “Social Life”, a new social networking tool.
Social Life gives customers one place to update the multiple social network profiles they may have. The program is compatible is the three most popular social networks: Facebook, Myspace and Bebo.
Social Life enables you to login and update all three at one place, saving both time and ensuring one of your profiles doesn’t become neglected. Social Life features include the ability to upload photos, update status, track friends status updates, view “social network notifications” as well as send and receiving messages.
SMS alerts can also be setup and the “Social Life” can also be selective, enabling you to choose if you only want an update to feature on one of your social networking sites.
“Social Life” is accessible from the Orange World, which is Oranges internet portal and in the future more social networks will be added.
Additionally Orange has released Orange Widget Player, which enables rapid access to content and applications from the home screen.
Widgets are becoming increasingly common and enable you to check the news, weather or sports updates and much more!
At the moment widgets are only available on the Nokia 6303, but this will change soon.
Mark Watts-Jones, Head of Product Management for Orange UK, said: “With Social Life and Widget Player we’re making it simple for customers to manage their favourite content, applications and social networks at the touch of a button. Over time we will be looking to add more sites to the service - helping users to stay in touch in touch with the people and content that matters most to them”.
