Europe : Baltic mobile operator, BITE Group, has signed a contract with Ericsson for the supply of 2G and 3G mobile systems infrastructure in Lithuania and Latvia until 2008.

The contract extends the existing business partnership between Ericsson and BITE Group companies for GSM and EDGE in Lithuania to Latvia and WCDMA.

Jesper Theill Eriksen, CEO, BITE Group, said, "We are very satisfied with Ericsson's performance and happy to select them as a technology partner for future mobile services. On the basis of Ericsson's leading solutions, we look forward to offering modern and cost efficient mobile data and voice services for consumers and
enterprises in Lithuania and Latvia."

Stefan Johansson, President for Ericsson Lithuania and Latvia, said, "We are proud of the trust and long-lasting relations we have built with BITE Group companies and are thrilled to take our partnership to the next level with 3G. It will be an exciting challenge for us to support BITE as they will bring advanced mobile services to Lithuania and Latvia."
