Android Market Hits 20,000 Applications

Global : The Android Market, which provides application downloads to Android powered mobiles, has now got over 20,000 applications available to users.

 

The Android Market launched back in October 2008, so its rise has been quite rapid.

 

Of the 20,000 applications available 62 per cent are free downloads, with the remaining 38 per cent being paid for applications.

 

The top free applications offered for download from the Android Market include Sudoko, Myspace Mobile and WikiMobile.

 

The top paid applications downloaded on the Android Market include CallerID, PowerManager, Bejewelled and Air Hockey.

 

Android powered mobiles that are compatible with the Android Market include the HTC Hero, Motorola Milestone and the upcoming Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.
