Europe : A futuristic App called Layar is now available on Android Market. The close up demo below shows Layer going through its paces on the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10.
Layar is a mobile augmented reality browser application and has just been updated to version 3. This is a truly interesting application and really the only way how to grasp how this works is to view the close up demo below on the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10.
There are many Layars available but the one which is being demoed is called Booli which when you look around your reality via the handset it uses GPS to locate the user and their direction by the compass in the handset. This is all displayed on the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10’s screen. You can pan around and the GPS updates your screen. In this demo of Booli Layer it shows properties for rent or sale nearby.
You can click one of the Icons ( a property location ) and the address is shown and photos and details of the property. Other Layers currently available are Wikipedia, Hotels, Beaches and many more.
The close up demo working on the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 has impressed us at 3G.co.uk with both its functionality and quality.
