: The R&S FSMU-W from Rohde & Schwarz combines the high-end
Vector Signal Generator R&S SMU200A with the Vector Signal Analyzer
R&S FSQ. Preconfigured for WCDMA, with one RF path and an analyzer
frequency range up to 26 GHz, both instruments together test WCDMA
base stations in line with the 3GPP standard. The R&S FSMU-W can
be upgraded at any time with a second RF path, a fading simulator
and options for other 2G or 3G standards.
Both the Vector
Signal Generator R&S SMU200A and the Vector Signal Analyzer R&S
FSQ meet the high requirements set by third-generation mobile radio
standards for the development and production of base stations. As
the WCDMA Base Station Test System R&S FSMU-W, the two instruments
perform all the tests on WCDMA base stations prescribed by 3GPP specifications.
For this purpose, both instruments are equipped with the option for
WCDMA.
The R&S FSMU-W
is available in three base configurations. An R&S SMU200A with
an RF signal source can be combined with an R&S FSQ with an upper
frequency limit of 3 GHz, 6 GHz, 8 GHz or 26.5 GHz. For tests requiring
an additional generator, the R&S SMU200A can be expanded by a
second RF source. Furthermore, a fading simulator can be added. In
addition to WCDMA, the R&S FSMU-W also supports the analysis and
generation of HSDPA signals. Further standards of second- and third-generation
mobile radio such as GSM/EDGE or CDMA2000 are optionally available.
The operating
manual contains clear instructions for performing all tests specified
by the standard. Moreover, it includes the relevant source codes for
programming the different test cases plus tips for obtaining measurement
results more quickly. The programming examples are provided on a CD,
making it considerably easier for the user to test WCDMA base stations.
The WCDMA Base
Station Test System R&S FSMU-W can now be ordered from Rohde &
Schwarz.
