| 3G QoS Validation Tool for WCDMA and GPRS |
|
18th February 2003 |
|
NetHawk QoS Validation Tool is an added value solution for QoS and performance measurement in WCDMA/GPRS networks. It dramatically helps in the process of successfully rolling out WCDMA/GPRS networks and providing subscribers with the best quality of service. The NetHawk QoS Validation Tool will be introduced in NetHawk Stand C19 in Hall 1 in Cannes at the 3GSM World Congress, February 18-21, 2003. The NetHawk QoS Validatin Tool provides delay and throughput measurements as well as key network statistics. The measurement results are presented graphically in real-time. End-to-end measurements in the live network give a good overall view of the service performance. The NetHawk QoS Validation Tool is highly scalable. At minimum, interface tracing can be done with one NetHawk Probe and a PC to which the NetHawk QoS Validation Tool Server and GUI softwares are installed. This provides a highly flexible measurement environment as the few measurement points can easily be moved from one interface to another. The interfaces supported for measurement include Iub, Iu, Gn and Gi. With additional components, the NetHawk QoS Validation Tool allows moving beyond passive monitoring to active testing where the input traffic to the network is generated by the system. Whether it is troubleshooting the network rollout, analysing QoS, or finding bottlenecks - it can effectively be done with the NetHawk QoS Validation Tool. |

The
roll-out in Europe of third-generation mobile communications (3G) is experiencing
a large number of problems because of the economic slowdown, financial
debts of the operators, who had to pay large licence fees, and the lack
of 3G devices on the market. |
