| New Integrated 3G OSS Solutions Help Wireless Service Providers |
19th February 2003 |
Inset is Giorgio Dina, vice president and general manager of Agilent's OSS business unit who is quoted below> Agilent's strategy and solutions are based on the unique ability to capture data from network elements, active test agents and the signaling network, which enables service providers to move from managing individual network elements to managing the end-to-end service. The new solutions include an OSS that provides complete testing of services, such as multimedia message services (MMS), virtual private networks (VPNs), e-mail and Web-browsing, based on the customer perspective; and an industry-first service offering that will monitor mobile roaming services to ensure subscribers get the services they expect. Key solutions being announced at 3GSM World Congress 2003 include: - Agilent OSS Wireless QoS Manager to monitor content providers, network connectivity, and IP connectivity through active tests; - Agilent OSS GPRS QoS Analyzer to manage next-generation service quality and customer satisfaction through GPRS transaction measurements; - Agilent OSS GPRS Session Analyzer to troubleshoot GPRS networks in real time using GPRS session information; and - Agilent Global Roaming Test Service to deliver high-quality roaming services with no capital expenditure. "In today's ultra-competitive market, wireless service providers need to change their organizational structure, tools, and processes to manage new-generation services easily, cost effectively and with the quality subscribers demand," said Mark Basham, Director of RHK's OSS program. "Agilent's continuing focus on service assurance for wireless voice and new-generation data services and the subscribers who use these services will reinforce their strength in the market place." "The products we've announced today are the first step in Agilent's program to bring the most comprehensive OSS solution-set to wireless data service providers," said Giorgio Dina, vice president and general manager of Agilent's OSS business unit. "Agilent will continue to work with our service provider customers to bring additional high-quality, integrated, and adaptable OSS solutions to market in the near future. |
