New Vodafone KK 3G Handset

ASIA Japan : Vodafone K.K. announced that after early April it will market the V801SH by Sharp, a new Vodafone Global Standard (VGS) 3G handset compatible with Vodafone live! for use both in Japan and abroad.

The V801SH is a dual mode handset capable of operating on Vodafone K.K.’s 3GPP-based W-CDMA network in Japan and roaming on GSM networks worldwide. In addition to voice roaming, V801SH customers can enjoy Vodafone live! contents like Sha-mail picture messaging, Movie Sha-mail video messaging and web browsing in the same way abroad as in Japan. Furthermore, since the V801SH is capable of sending and receiving mails of up to 200KB, customers can easily send off pictures taken with the built-in Megapixel CCD Mobile Camera. V801SH customers can also enjoy 3G-exclusive content like Chaku-uta™ CD-quality ringsongs, high-resolution wallpapers and video clip downloads.

W-CDMA + Triband-GSM compatible handset
The V801SH is compatible with 3GPP-based W-CDMA in Japan and the three main GSM frequencies (900/1800/1900MHz) abroad, allowing customers to communicate in many countries and areas located in the Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America as if they were in Japan.

Integrated Megapixel CCD Mobile Camera
The V801SH’s integrated Megapixel CCD Mobile Camera can take high-quality pictures in resolutions of up to 858 x 1144 pixels. Since the handset is 3G compatible, pictures taken in megapixel mode can be sent off easily as Sha-mails, thereby further enriching
communication options.

SD Memory Card Support
The SD Memory Card slot allows for much more than saving contact data and pictures taken with the Megapixel CCD Mobile Camera. The V801SH also comes with a Multimedia Player capable of voice recording, playing back music and video and an e-book function for viewing electronic dictionary and e-book content.

Compatible with Vodafone live! for VGS

V801SH customers can send and receive Sha-mails or Movie Sha-mails up to maximum 200 sizes as well as download high-resolution wallpapers, video clips and Chaku-uta™ CD-quality ringsongs. Customers can also enjoy Sha-mail, Movie Sha-mail and web browsing both in Japan and abroad.
Vodafone live! use requires a 300 yen monthly subscription.
