DoOnGo Software Aims At 3G Flaws

23rd February , 2004

US : DoOnGo Technologies, Inc., the industry leader in over-the-air (OTA) mobile device software management announced the availability of DeltaUpgrade(TM) 2.0, the performance-driven leader. The enhancements in this release improve the software update performance up to 10 times faster and dramatically reduce the update package size and download times.

"Software applications for mobile devices are becoming increasingly complex with the move to 3G," said Michael King, principal analyst at Gartner. "Unfortunately, complex software and handset applications result in more problems for device users. Carriers and device manufacturers will need to deliver fast, effective customer service to ensure satisfaction and retention."

DoOnGo is the first company to power OTA-capable phones on public wireless networks. By delivering the first software infrastructure that increases the speed of OTA software downloads and optimizes device memory management, DoOnGo empowers carriers to deliver breakthrough wireless services that drive higher revenue.

New features in DeltaUpgrade 2.0 include:

-- Instant software downloads and memory updates -- Dynamic addressing, a new feature of DeltaUpgrade 2.0, dramatically reduces the update package size and download and memory update times by eliminating memory address dependencies among firmware components.

-- Modular and flexible architecture -- DeltaUpgrade's modular and flexible architecture allows deployment of end-to-end solutions in multiple configurations, or deployment of only the components needed. DeltaUpgrade is easily integrated with existing infrastructures, and can be easily deployed on any mobile device platform, microprocessor, or real-time operating system. In addition, it is 100 percent fault-tolerant and offers the highest levels of security available today. Traditional solutions offer only selected firmware upgrades with little or no flexibility.

-- Only complete solution available -- DoOnGo is the only company providing end-to-end OTA software update deployment. Major wireless operators and device manufacturers have already successfully deployed DoOnGo's DeltaUpgrade technology.

"More technology glitches are expected as handsets move exclusively to 3G," said Dr. Luosheng Peng, CEO, chairman and co-founder of DoOnGo Technologies. "These flaws will spark costly recalls from device manufacturers and delays in downloading needed software upgrades. With the use of DeltaUpgrade 2.0, carriers will be able to offer faster downloads for software updates and, ultimately, better service to their customers."

DoOnGo will be exhibiting at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France in Hall 4, Booth L10. Executive Vice President and Co-Founder Steve Artim will be speaking on "Rolling Out OTA Handset Software Upgrades" on Monday, February 23.
