: Tektronix, Inc., announced a major enhancement to its Unified
Assurance solution to include UTRAN for end-to-end UMTS management.
Inset
is UMTS UTRAN Signaling”, a unique compendium and reference,
gives a deep insight into the secrets and depths of UMTS signaling
on the wireline interfaces produced by Tektronix.
The
Unified Assurance offering from Tektronix is the established industry
leader for managing GPRS and UMTS networks, and is in operation
in major mobile networks throughout the world. Adding real-time
UTRAN management enables carriers to troubleshoot, quickly launch
and continuously monitor broadband services across mobile access,
mobile core and IP networks for one integrated solution.
Unlike current
offerings in the market that integrate several disjointed products,
Unified Assurance provides seamless management of the entire network,
the services offered on the network and the customers using those
services through a single carrier user interface. This capability
has been delivered on the industry's highest capacity and most scalable
architecture available today, enabling significant savings in total
cost of ownership and the ability to support tens of millions of
subscribers. Also unlike other offerings, Tektronix' architectural
approach ensures platform continuity as network demands grow in
the future.
"We are
very excited about this comprehensive UMTS management solution,"
said Doug Dickerson, VP and General Manager of Tektronix' Unified
Assurance business. "Our customers need a single solution to
manage access, core and IP networks. What is significant about this
announcement is that we've enhanced our Unified Assurance solution
by incorporating proven software technology for UTRAN management
from Tektronix' industry-leading K-series diagnostic products, which
are deployed globally in network equipment manufacturers' and carriers'
labs."
