UK : iO Global Limited announced that it has signed an agreement with
ITN Multimedia to provide its streaming news and other mobile content
services internationally as part of the iO Global managed service
to mobile network operators. Under the terms of the agreement, iO
Global will provide ITN’s UK and Worldwide News as well as Entertainment
and Sports news throughout the world.

of mobile content development, producing and packaging bulletins specifically
for the mobile platform, covering news, entertainment, sports and
business on a daily basis. ITN Multimedia also has access to nearly
680,000 hours of footage through the ITN archive that can be used
to develop further mobile content.
iO Global’s first deployment of ITN content will be as part

Telecom. This is expected to be followed by further deployments in
Asia, Eastern Europe and Southern Africa.
The managed service provided
by iO Global is unique in addressing the management of the full supply

through to delivery and real-time billing to the end user. The service
is fully automated to facilitate the marketing and delivery of dynamic
content services such as TV and Radio news (as well as newspapers,
real music, pictures, ring tones, wallpapers and 3D games) to mobile
devices and PCs. Based on a revenue sharing model, the iO managed
service allows rich content to be delivered quickly and easily with
minimal capital expenditure and up-front costs.
Martin Knestrick, Chief Executive of iO Global said: “News and
Entertainment are vital components in any mix of mobile content and
specialist areas, such as business news, are particularly attractive
for certain segments of early adopters. We are delighted to be working
with ITN and to be using the iO platform to deliver such leading-edge
content to a wider audience globally.”
Nicholas Wheeler, Managing
Director of ITN Multimedia, added: "This agreement further strengthens
our position as the market leader in delivering video news and other
content to mobile. The highly flexible and scaleable solution provided
by iO Global will help us take our high quality news output to a wider
audience around the globe.”
The managed service provided
by iO Global is a truly global solution designed to enable network
operators and content providers to accelerate development and delivery
of digital content for 2.5G and 3G mobile content. It is controlled
via web interfaces, supports virtually any data-network architecture
or mobile device and incorporates powerful integrated workflow management
features. It is also designed to integrate with existing systems to
speed deployment and support real-time reporting and account management.
The use of open standards and a revenue share business model enables
rapid deployment and greatly reduces implementation costs.

its content management and delivery platform and the delivery of ITN
News and Entertainment content on it, on its stand (E96) at the 3GSM
