Europe
: UK technology company C3 of Cambridge is to launch a video module
for its premium rate and multi-channel call-handling systems, Apcentia
and Seteca, at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona.
The video module offers
two important features – it is fully multi-channel and it is
programmable by the customer.
As well as premium rate
numbers, the system supports calls from landlines and mobile phones
and calls to short codes.
Like C3’s established
call-handling systems Apcentia and Seteca, the video module uses C3’s
4voice programming language which allows users to create their own
applications. This is faster and more cost effective for the user
companies, who will be able to offer highlights from sport and TV
and pop music as soon as they become available.
“We have seen a proven
interest in video from our value-added services customers,”
says John Wood of C3, “and we are hoping to announce our first
orders for video at the show.”
C3 is offering a starter
video package consisting of a 30-line Seteca unit configured to run
video and IVR. This can be upgraded to support any number of incoming
channels. 3G phone services and text services will be offered as upgrades.
The infrastructure will
support video-to-mobile services across all of the UK’s mobile
network operators, Vodafone, O2, 3, Virgin and Orange.
The 3GSM World Congress
runs from 13th to 16th February at the Fira conference centre in Barcelona.
