NJ : Anadigics announced that the company's WCDMA (UMTS) and GSM/GPRS/EDGE
power amplifiers (PAs) have been adopted for a reference design by
Qualcomm.
Qualcomm's Mobile
Station Modem (MSM) MSM6275 chipset for HSDPA and WCDMA (UMTS) /GSM
/GPRS/ EDGE networks has been widely adopted for wireless devices
around the world, helping drive the deployment of HSDPA and other
advanced wireless technologies. The MSM6275 reference design includes
Anadigics' AWT6272, AWT6276 and AWT6277 WCDMA (UMTS) PAs and the company's
AND0041 polar EDGE PA. The AWT6272, AWT6276, and AWT6277 High-Efficiency-at-Low-Power
(HELP) WCDMA PAs extend the battery life in mobile handsets and notebook
computers with embedded WCDMA (UMTS) capabilities.
"GSM/GPRS
operators are upgrading their networks to support the WCDMA (UMTS)
air interface with High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA), driving
demand for multi-mode 3G mobile phones, data cards, PDAs and embedded
systems, and increasing Anadigics' content per application,"
said Dr. Ali Khatibzadeh, Senior Vice President and General Manager
of Wireless Products at Anadigics. "With four Anadigics power
amplifiers supporting different bands as part of Qualcomm's industry-leading
MSM6275 reference design, we are proud to have been selected as a
primary power amplifier vendor for their 3G solutions and look forward
to continued collaboration on the next generation of broadband wireless
systems."
