: Mobeon, the mobile messaging software specialist, has joined forces
with video communications specialist, TANDBERG, as part of its 3G
Gateway beta test programme. Mobeon has supplied its videomail system
to create a complete 3G collaboration platform for video callers.
The TANDBERG 3G Gateway,
which integrates Mobeon's videomail software, enables users to leave
video messages when the person called is unavailable. In addition,
short videos to share experiences or deliver news can be sent using
a 3G camera phone from any location, at any time, to either individuals
or multiple recipients.
The videomail solution
is built on Mobeon's CompEdge IP messaging software. Designed to give
operators the ability to analyse, design, test, alter and deploy video
messaging services in a few weeks instead of months, it also means
messaging services can be tailored to specific customer types.
"Integrating Mobeon
technology with the TANDBERG 3G Gateway enhances our videomail offering
and gives operators, using Mobeon solutions, a one-stop-shop for 3G
video services," said Chris Horn, VP, product marketing, Mobeon.
"This development demonstrates how Mobeon can support mobile
video services and deliver videomail as part of a fully integrated
3G video gateway."
"The combination of
the Mobeon CompEdge video messaging software with the TANDBERG 3G
Video Gateway has the potential to add real value to the operators
and their end customers," explains Hkon Dahle, Chief Technologist
at TANDBERG.
