ASIA : SK Telecom started its 'Liquid Screen Small Payment Service' that allows settlement of account charges through ray signals captured on a liquid screen.

- Approves and makes payment transactions through a system that perceives ray patterns that flick on a cellular screen.
- The charged amount can be paid by customers' choice of Moneta Cash or a small payment.

Any customer who uses a color screening handset can use this service as a new revolutionary method of payment transaction. First you download the exclusive service program which will then generate the rays that flash with special patterns on the cellular liquid screen. This ray acknowledges on a special receiver that it is connected to a PC through the USB port, and is then automatically linked to a server to create a legitimate and secure approval procedure for making payment transactions.

SK Telecom explained that payments made by small settlement can be added to the charges on the next month's cellular service bill. The payment amounts charged by Moneta Cash (www.monetacash.co.kr) transactions are paid in real time from the cash that has accumulated in the Moneta account.

For activating and utilizing this service, the Sego Entertainment (www.sego.co.kr) which is in charge of its technological support and infrastructure, will provide the receivers in 400 PC and DVD Game Centers which will be located in the metropolitan areas of Seoul by January of 2004. SK Telecom will conduct transaction procedures that include connection, payment approvals, actual payments and billing.
