The
suite was selected for deployment in its Hisense HT28, a trial handset
for TD-SCDMA networks. HT28 is a dual-mode (TD-SCDMA/GPRS) handset
which has deployed NetFront Mobile Client Suite including ACCESS’
NetFront browser, MMS client, JV-Lite™2 Java™ virtual
machine and POP3/SMTP client.
TD-SCDMA is
the Chinese home grown 3G standard among the three international
3G standards. The on going TD-SCDMA pre-commercial tests will have
a direct impact on the development and commercial operation of 3G
in China, so the tests are being watched closely by many leading
handsets vendors both in China and abroad. The NetFront Mobile Client
Suite supports the latest OMA Browsing 2.2 specification and W3C
specifications, delivering a full Internet browsing experience.
ACCESS has extensive
experience in the successful deployment of 3G data solutions with
leading 3G operators throughout the world. ACCESS’ NetFront
Mobile Client Suite is a tightly integrated, modular and comprehensive
software solution. The NetFront browser is the first browser deployed
over commercial 3G networks. The NetFront Mobile Client Suite has
been widely deployed in WCDMA and CDMA2000 handsets and it is also
a preferred data solution for TD-SCDMA terminals.
“ Hisense
Communications has a strong competitive edge in handset technology
development, and we are pleased to collaborate with Hisense to support
the TD-SCDMA pre-commercial test,” said Toru Arakawa president
and CEO of ACCESS. “ACCESS has successfully cooperated with
numerous 3G mobile operators worldwide, and we are pleased to share
our expertise with domestic operators and handset vendors to contribute
to the development of the TD-SCDMA industry.”
