Europe / Hong Kong : Option N.V. announced that SmarTone-Vodafone has selected the GlobeTrotter 3G QUAD wireless data card, providing its mobile customers with access to broadband wireless data services wherever they travel worldwide. The product is customized to the exacting requirements of the operator.

This latest supply agreement extends Option’s long-standing relationship with Vodafone into a region the world’s leading international operator group considers to be strategically important. SmarTone-Vodafone is Hong Kong's leading mobile services brand with more than 1 million customers.

SmarTone-Vodafone is a GSM operator and a 3G services provider. The commercial launch of 3Genabled services at the end of 2004 for both consumers and business users is a key milestone in its quest for long-term growth through multimedia services. SmarTone-Vodafone is the marketing brand for SmarTone Mobile Communications Limited following the signing of a Partner Network Agreement with Vodafone Group Plc. The dual brand was officially launched in April 2005. Established in 1992, the company was the first operator to launch GSM mobile services in Asia in 1993 and the first in Hong Kong to introduce automatic international roaming.
