Indonesia : Huawei Technologies has won the WCDMA contract of Indonesia's
mobile operator Natrindo Telepon Selular ("NTS"). Huawei
is selected as NTS' preferred & sole vendor to construct NTS'
unified 3G/2G softswitch core networks, intelligent service platforms
and IP backbone networks in Indonesia. The whole nation, except
Djakarta, will be seamlessly covered by Huawei's Node B system.
Mr. Kusnadi Sukarja,
CEO of NTS, commented, "In the process of vendor selection,
Huawei has demonstrated its powerful technological capabilities,
excellent product portfolio and advanced 3G network deployment capabilities.
"Huawei's excellence
in customization and technological innovativeness have made great
impressions on us. Selecting Huawei as our 3G network full service
supplier is NTS' significant step to bring the fastest and highest
quality 3G multimedia communications to Indonesian customers,"
Mr. Sukarja continued .
Mr. Wang Shengli, Presidetn
of Huawei's Asia Pacific Region, said "Huawei is very pleased
to build a high-quality and highly-efficient 3G network for NTS
and help NTS to become a leading 3G service operator in Indonesia."
"Huawei looks forward
to a close and successful cooperation with NTS. Huawei's softswitch
core network supports IP switch and transmission, simultaneous 2G
& 3G access and IMS integration, thereby fully meets NTS' requirements
to futher its business development." Mr. Wang continued.
As of January
2006, Huawei has won 18 WCDMA commercial contracts in the world,
and has established strategic partnerships with world-leading operators,
including Vodafone and Telefornica.
