| T-Mobile Lines Up Video News |
7th July 2003 |
The Video News messages contain short video clips lasting up to 20 seconds, some of which also feature sound and text. Video News messages can be ordered by sending a SMS text message to T-Mobile speed dial 72766, via t-zones in the "MMS & Messaging" section or on the Internet at www.t-mobile.de, menu option "Dienste/MMS" (services/MMS), where there is also an overview of all the video news programmes available. Once a customer has subscribed to a programme, the video clips are sent regularly to his/her mobile telephone. The frequency with which messages are sent to the MMS mobile telephone depends on the programme selected, but generally Video News messages are sent out once or several times a week. In addition, interested customers can also call up individual video news messages. Video News can currently be received on the MMS video-enabled Nokia 3650. Other models will soon follow. T-Mobile’s MMS News messages with video sequences are currently divided into four price categories depending on the content: Ticker-type messages like the football Bundesliga service cost € 0.99 per MMS. For standard information services, like the latest news reports or sport summaries, the price per MMS received is € 1.29. In the premium category for higher-value contents, like music-video clips or film trailers, the charge is € 1.99 per MMS. Video News messages from the erotica category cost € 2.49 per message. Video News adds another feature to the MMS News portfolio, which was launched at the end of last year and which currently has about 120 programmes. MMS News consists of messages with visual images, text and sound which give the user the latest news from politics and industry, football and sport results, personal horoscopes, not forgetting weather forecasts, comic clips and erotic services. T-Mobile subscribers can see for themselves how up-to-date, informative and entertaining MMS News really is: From 7 to 27 July 2003 they can receive the offer on a non-binding basis. During this period, customers can receive free-of-charge the news programmes "STERN.de Extra des Tages" (5 MMS/week) and "n-tv – Der Tag" (7 MMS/week), as well as "SPORT BILD – Formel 1" for <nonr>F 1 news (7 MMS/week), "GALA PromiNews" – for the latest from the world of celebrities (5 MMS/week) and "Unglaublich – aber wahr" – a programme presenting customers with fascinating facts (3 MMS/week). The free programmes can be ordered from the T-Mobile Internet sites or via the t-zones in the menu option "MMS & Messaging"/"MMS News Schnupperaktion" (trial offer). Once the promotion has finished, the trial subscriptions automatically continue as a regular fee-paying service, although cancelling the service remains possible at any time. |
