Handheld Spectrum Analyser for Wireless Signal analysis up to 7 GHz

Europe : Anritsu has introduced the MS2721A, the first fully functional handheld spectrum analyser designed to conduct highly accurate analysis of wireless signals, including 802.11a, 3G, ultra-wideband, and WiMAX, up to 7 GHz. Using the MS2721A, engineers can ensure the integrity of data/voice transmissions while also identifying interfering signals. These analysis capabilities are now more important than ever due to the increasing number of RF signals created by the roll out of new wireless infrastructures.

The MS2721A enables engineers and field technicians to easily design, deploy, and optimise the performance of wireless devices and networks ranging from commercial to defence and public safety. The next-generation of Anritsu's Spectrum Master( family, the MS2721A spectrum analyser is small and easy to use with unparalleled measurement capability. Weighing less than 3kg, the MS2721A is just as suitable for use on the engineering test bench as out in the field.

The MS2721A, which covers 9 kHz to 7.1 GHz, can make a number of measurements from the push of one button; including field strength, channel power, occupied bandwidth, adjacent channel power ratio (ACPR), and carrier to interference ratio (C/I). The spectrum analyser has phase noise of -100 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offsets, best in class DANL of -152 dBm at 2.2 GHz typically, and resolution bandwidth (RBW) range of 10 Hz to 3 MHz. It also has the fastest sweep speeds of any spectrum analyser in its class.

Featuring an 8.4-inch TFT colour display that can be clearly viewed in daylight the MS2721A also has a user interface that can be customised in multiple languages. The compact design of the MS2721A also features external and internal compact flash slots, as well as Ethernet 10/100 and USB 2.0 ports. Housed in a rugged case, the MS2721A can withstand the tough environments and terrain associated with field use. A Lithium-Ion battery gives the MS2721A long life, as well as durability. It also has a wide operating temperature range of -10( to +55( C.
