Europe : Proving its continuous commitment to help provide 3G services, Anritsu has introduced the MD8470A Signalling Tester, designed to enable the wireless communications industry to rapidly develop and deploy new services and applications onto next generation mobile phones. The MD8470A provides a complete 'network simulator on the desk' allowing developers to test new features, services and applications on real handsets in a live environment with the convenience of a desk top test unit.

This new test concept means that developers will no longer require access to live test networks and infrastructure to be able to test and develop new attractive mobile-based services. The MD8470 supports multiple communications systems including W-CDMA and GSM/GPRS, offering integrated system simulation from RF to core network gateway. Using the MD8470A, the press of a single button provides the developer access to a test environment that is configured and managed on an integrated PC, and provides a true 'over the air' RF link to 3GPP compliant handsets.

After the tests have been performed, simulation results can be analysed with the protocol message decode function. Using the built in control PC, data, servers and content can all be stored and managed within the test equipment.

The MD8470A sits alongside Anritsu's MT8820A, MD8480B, and MX786201A, providing developers with a family of test solutions for system simulators and wireless handset testing.
