T3G Launches the First Commercial TD-SCDMA Data-Card Terminal

Europe : T3G Technology announced today the launch of the first ASIC-based TD-SCDMA high speed data card solution and the T3G TD7211C data card that supports download speeds of up to 384kbps, thereby enabling an exciting 3G wireless data experience such as mobile internet, file downloading and real-time video streaming. T3G¡®s data card is empowered by the well-proven TD-SCDMA Modem chip that has also been developed by T3G.

With its TD7211C data card, T3G successfully demonstrated several multimedia data applications in the TD-SCDMA field trial network. The completely stable data connection and the resulting enhanced performance for steaming video applications anticipate the arrival of the wireless broadband age with TD-SCDMA, the Chinese-invented 3G standard. All functional and performance tests of the data card have been conducted in a TD-SCDMA network identical to a commercial environment, thereby proving the reliability and commercial ability of today¡®s end-to-end TD-SCDMA network.

The T3G TD7211C data card was developed based on T3G¡®s TD-SCDMA terminal chipset solution, and features cost efficiency, low power consumption, and high transmission rates. The easy-to-use T3G TD7211C data card is available in the PC-Card format and can be easily installed in the PCMCIA slot of any notebook PC and enables customers to quickly connect to the high-speed TD-SCDMA network. The T3G TD7211C wireless card not only provides the convenience of mobility and high-speed access to the Internet, email, and streaming video, but also has the ability to support voice calls and the short text and multi-media message services. A customer can enjoy the advantages of high-speed data applications on the Internet through the TD-SCDMA network without experiencing the inconvenience of missed voice calls and short messages.

TD-SCDMA is a Chinese developed 3rd generation (3G) mobile telecommunications standard that can allocate timeslot resources agilely and maximize the efficient use of the spectrum. Among the 3G standards, TD-CDMA is the most suited for asymmetrical traffic applications such as email or Internet access by assigning different data rates to the uplink and to the downlink. The timely launch of T3G¡®s data card not only greatly diversifies the commercially available TD-SCDMA terminals but also provides customers with the excellent data capabilities of the advanced TD-SCDMA technology at the initial stage of network rollout, thus guaranteeing the operators a wide variety of choices of value-added data services.
