Continued 3G Growth for Vodafone

Europe : Vodafone reported revenues growth generally in line with expectations just before a shareholder vote this week.

Vodafone confirmed it had achieved 6.4% organic growth in mobile revenues for the second quarter to June 30 and was on target to achieve between 5% and 6.5% growth for 2006.

Alan Sarin, Chief Executive ( above ) confirmed it had seen continued growth across its 3G platform, with 1.3 million 3G devices added. The total 3G device base is now 9.1 million in the group’s subsidiaries and joint ventures and a further two million in the group’s associates.

Vodafone said it acquired 4.5 million new customers, with a further 11.7 million from the acquisition of Turkish operator Telsim. The company's total customer base is currently 186.8 million.
