Volantis Mobile Device Database Expands to 3000+ Devices |

The milestone was reached as Volantis experiences a dramatic growth in demand for its integrated mobile content solutions incorporating browsing, download, search and messaging functionalities. Volantis also announced the availability today of the database for third parties via its Device Database Licensing Program. Previously the database was accessible only for existing customers of Volantis' mobile content platform. Industry analysts suggest device diversity is one of the greatest barriers to achieving consistent, high quality content delivered to each device. With each Volantis-registered device defined by more than 500 feature and performance attributes, Volantis ensures content is optimized for the best user experience on 2G, 2.5G and 3G mobile handsets, smartphones, PDAs and other platforms covering GSM, GPRS, UMTS/WCDMA and CDMA2000 wireless standards. In less than eight months Volantis has increased the size of its device coverage by 50 percent, reflecting increased support for existing customers and Volantis' growing business in the United States and Asia. The database includes attributes such as MIME types and codecs for supported content types, attributes to enable optimized downloads of wallpapers and screensavers and DRM compliance standards. Serving more than 40 content provider and carrier customers, including Cingular, eBay, Hearst Magazines, MobileOne, Orange and Reuters, Volantis delivers compelling content for all popular handsets in the UK and Europe, and 95 percent of U.S. devices. Volantis ensures that customers' applications and services automatically support the new devices as they are added to the database. "This latest milestone reflects our aggressive initiative to provide optimized mobile content for the broadest base of devices in the world," said Matthew Harris, Chief Executive Officer of Volantis. "The marketplace has acknowledged the significance of optimizing content for broad distribution and we will continue working to achieve our goal of 100 percent coverage, worldwide, across all networks."
