Financial Times Targets iPhone Users

UK : The Financial Times has launched its own application for the iPhone. Left shows how the new FT service looks on an iPhone.

 

Here’s a summary of what you could receive via the new iPhone application :

 

- Browse through all the latest news stories as they're published.

 

- Access markets data, currencies, commodities, bonds and company tearsheets.

 

- View your ft.com portfolios on the move to manage your investments more effectively.

 

The application at first glance is touted as free but there are conditions to receive the FT content free of charge.

 

As a first time user of the application you are permitted to access 3 pieces of information a month whilst registered users get 10 a month.

 

Both get free access to the daily market data. Paying members ( Standard and Premium ) get everything mentioned above.

 

Of course, the FT has not overlooked that it also offers a new advertising stream as application advertisers can aim their campaigns at the FT’s readers via the new application.
