UK : O2 have announced a new service that provides small businesses with a land line number that also rings to a mobile phone.
This is the first service of this kind by a UK operator. The “Fixed Number Anywhere” service enables businesses to take land line calls on their mobile phone. Obviously, the service is beneficial to those who want customers to ring a land line, but can’t be in the office all the time. An O2 study also showed that people much prefer to ring a local phone number, which this service also enables while still effectively ringing to your mobile.
Businesses can keep their existing numbers and can link up to five numbers to one mobile! Additionally, the number can be linked to up to 10 employee mobiles ensuring no call is ever missed, with the ability to prioritise within the group of employees.
The calls to a mobile via the service are not charged for and will be charged to the caller at standard rate, not the mobile rate! The service is available for £10 for 01 or 02 numbers and £15 for 0808 numbers and will be available in August.
