HSPA Mobile Broadband Success Continues

22nd July , 2009

US : The success of HSPA is clearly shown by the number of HSPA connections being taken out across the world.

The figure will soon pass the one hundred and fifty million mark according to the GSM Assoc. This impressive upturn is forecast to hit two hundred million connections by early 2010.

Currently HSPA network launches total over 300 and the latest count reveals nearly 1500 HSPA enabled devices have been launched.

Wireless Intelligence reports that Asia Pacific currently has 50 million HSPA mobile broadband connections, the US 32 million.

"The tremendous success of HSPA demonstrates the enormous ongoing demand for truly mobile broadband access, " said Dan Warren, Director of Technology, GSMA. "HSPA's leading position is not just important to the mobile industry - by using a single technology for mobile broadband services globally, we avoid the fragmentation that limits its potential to improve the quality of people's lives."
