Following on from the successful launch of Photostore(TM) picture messaging community solution for Symbian series 60 devices. Sapio have launched a version for the Sony Ericsson P800, the edition is built using Personal Java and allows owners of the Sony Ericsson P800 to use all of the features of Photostore. With the launch of a Personal Java version of Photostore for the popular Sony Ericsson P800, owners of this device can join the community of existing users in over 32 countries who are already enjoying the fun and benefits of Photostore. Photostore is an online photo community solution for service providers and mobile carriers. Photostore is a Personal Java and Symbian application that enables the user to upload photos to an online store. For Mobile carriers and Service providers Photostore can generate revenue through increased data traffic and increased print orders. The online store is divided into different folder options, for example Family, Friends, Work etc. Buddy lists can be set up that are associated with each folder so that when a new photo is saved everybody is notified (via email or SMS) and can then view and download that new photo. Photostore opens new opportunities for owners of camera equipped mobile phones. By using Photostore pictures are quickly and easily shared and distributed. Thumbnails of the stored photos can be seen on the phone and the folders and buddy lists can be created and updated via the Web browser interface. Niklas Sjöberg, CEO and founder of Sapio AB explains "We are proud of this launch, Photostore has already been an outstanding success on Symbian Series 60 and now even more people can use it as we have designed a version specifically for the Sony Ericsson P800 smartphone." He continues "We have demonstrated that smartphone applications can find a global marketplace by delivering the application in over 32 countries." The Photostore solution is server/client solution designed for Personal Java and Symbian series 60. Image files can be sent, received and stored in a community environment. It operates on GPRS and 3G networks. To popularize the use of camera equipped mobile phones Photostore will be offered for use free of charge by Sapio AB for a limited period. Owners of Sony Ericsson P800, Nokia 3650 and 7650 phones can register at www.photostore.se and begin using the service. About
