Japan : NTT DoCoMo, Inc. unveiled the specifications of its third-generation (3G) F2102V and N2102V clamshell-type videophone handsets and F2402, the FOMA lineup's first PC card-type terminal equipped for PC-based videophone. The F2102V and N2102V enable client authentication for enhanced network security when making mobile payments and other e-commerce transactions over the FOMA network. In addition to Adaptive MultiRate speech coding, the two handsets are equipped for Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) audio compression to offer CD-quality sound with DoCoMo's i-motion™ video clip distribution service. DoCoMo will introduce these models to the market as soon as all preparations for sales are completed. The main features of each model are as follows (features may subject to change):
