3G Americas Director for Latin America and Caribbean

US : The wireless association 3G Americas announced the appointment of Erasmo Rojas as the Director of Latin America and the Caribbean. In his role, Mr. Rojas will be responsible for providing information to mobile operators, manufacturers, regulators, telecoms organizations and the media regarding the GSM family of technologies in Latin America and the Caribbean. Mr. Rojas will inform these key audiences on the industry's latest developments to facilitate the successful development of GSM and next-generation mobile services throughout the region.

Mr. Rojas has more than 28 years of experience in the telecommunications industry including nine years serving the wireless industry in Latin America. Throughout his career, Mr. Rojas has worked with operators throughout Latin America and the Caribbean in launching new networks and developing new mobile business opportunities. Recently, Erasmo Rojas worked for a leading manufacturer of network infrastructure to facilitate the migration of operators from analog to digital to third-generation services in South America, Mexico and the Caribbean. Originally from Colombia, Mr. Rojas is now based in Dallas, Texas at the 3G Americas regional office. Mr. Rojas holds a BSEE in Electrical/Computer Engineering from Distrital University in Colombia, a MSEE in Telecommunications Management from the University of Colorado and an MBA in International Management and Marketing from Southern Methodist University in Texas.
