LogicaCMG has played a key systems integration role in helping M1 launch this new service. By enabling different streaming technologies such as bandwidth adaptation and encoding technology, LogicaCMG has helped the operator to maximise the potential of the service. LogicaCMG's system integration capabilities have enabled the creation of handset-independent streaming services. Initially available on the Nokia 3650, other devices will be supported before the end of the year. LogicaCMG's handset independent approach enables operators to target the mass market with streaming services by simplifying the user experience. Patrick Scodeller, CTO of M1, said: "We are very excited to launch this service as video streaming is taking mobile entertainment to the next level and we look forward to bringing more exhilarating content to our customers. We believe that by being the first company in Singapore to launch streaming we now have a competitive advantage. The solution we have deployed has been possible thanks to our partnership with LogicaCMG, which has provided us with its systems integration expertise, as well as their proven track record in mobile messaging." Frans Veen, chief executive of LogicaCMG in Asia, said: "Streaming enriches the users' mobile experience, whilst at the same time offers M1 a commercial opportunity to generate more revenue from mobile data traffic. The M1 solution is a good example of how LogicaCMG is partnering with mobile operators to help them make mobile data services work." LogicaCMG is the global leader in messaging and payments, supplying messaging and billing solutions to 250 of the world's top operators in over 70 countries. These solutions serve over 500 million active mobile phone subscribers. |
