| 3G Test Case Choice with ETSI Option |
26th June 2003 |
US : Anite Telecoms announced a significant addition to its portfolio of 3G test cases. Through the use of its newly launched ETSI TTCN adaptor, customers will gain the ability to use 3GPP's ETSI originated test cases as part of their test process. These ETSI originated test cases are complementary to Anite's extensive existing library and will provide network operators and terminal manufacturers with increased flexibility and choice in the development and validation of products supporting next-generation W-CDMA communications. This development further enhances the functionality of Anite's U-SAT platform, a test and measurement solution optimized to support the widest possible functionality and facilitate a rapid, error-free test cycle. Mobile handset manufacturers are using Anite's conformance test cases for the development and validation of 3G products at this crucial stage in the launch and acceptance of W-CDMA. Anite technology can accelerate the delivery of 3G services by giving wireless network operators the assurance that next-generation handsets operate as intended on their newly launched 3G networks. This peace of mind is essential as new 3G offerings are put under extensive scrutiny by an ever more critical media. "Implementation of ETSI test case technology on Anite's U-SAT platform enhances our already extensive range of 3G test and measurement capabilities," said Dan Oosthuizen, director, Anite Telecoms. "The decision to broaden Anite's test case offerings follows thorough dialogue with customers and partners and is indicative of our commitment to provide handset manufacturers and operators with as much choice and flexibility throughout the conformance process as possible." With more than 200 proven W-CDMA test cases currently available through Anite's proprietary test case development strategy, the launch of ETSI conformance tests on the U-SAT platform emphasizes Anite's position as the preeminent provider of 3G test and measurement solutions. Anite will continue to increase resource on its existing, independent test case development strategy in parallel with implementation of the ETSI offerings. This two-pronged approach will result in the faster introduction of high-quality 3G test cases. "Our experience with Anite has been positive and we are pleased with the availability of ETSI-T1-originated test cases," said Mark Lemmo, Executive Vice President of Product Management and Business Development, InterDigital Communications Corporation. "These test cases broaden the scope of available test cases and can play a role in enabling a faster time to market in the development of third-generation voice and data communications products." |
