New Panasonic Ultra Slim Phone

21st June , 2004

ASIA : Panasonic Mobile Communications Co. Ltd., introduces the new X400 to the Asia Pacific region. The ultra thin 17.5mm, clamshell design X400 features a handy one push auto open button. There is also a 65K color TFT screen and VGA camera.

Yoshihisa Tatsumi, Director of the Marketing Division for Asia and Oceania, Panasonic Mobile Communications, comments:"I believe technology is measured by how thin one can make a clamshell phone. To my understanding we are a leader with this technology. The X400 is stylish enough for a date, yet sophisticated enough for an office."

Design Of Desire The phone is presented in a sleek black finish, very much like that one finds on the keys of a Grand Piano. Panasonic has been very careful to get the finish on the product just right, as the name suggests, the phone is nicknamed ¿Design of Desire.¿ It is very different from the plastic looking phones that have become commonplace in the market. This phone will serve the consumer who is interested in a fully packed, fully functional, fully stylish, yet slim mobile clamshell terminal. Thereby leading to the project name Design of Desire.

User-Friendly Design With the push of a button, the X400 pops open making it quick and easy to capture moments on the VGA camera. There is a twilight mode to help create high quality evening images - which can then be displayed on the crystal clear 65k color TFT screen.

Feature Packed More than just an innovation in slim mobile phone design, the X400 has all the essentials that you would expect from Panasonic, like 16 polyphonic ringtones, calendar function, calculator and WAP browser. You can download a range of games and other Java applications.

The X400 will be available in the market starting Q3 2004.
